What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy approach that helps people heal from overwhelming experiences, including trauma, anxiety, and painful memories. It works by helping your brain process stuck or distressing memories in a way that feels more manageable.
During EMDR, we use gentle techniques—like guided eye movements or tapping—while you think about specific memories or feelings. This helps your brain "digest" the experience, so it no longer feels as upsetting or intrusive.
Many people find that EMDR helps them feel lighter, more grounded, and better able to respond to life in the present, rather than being pulled into the past.
